  9. Sketching ever since she could remember, Jackie quietly pursued her first love in spite of stories of the 
  10. "starving artist," along with her second love, animals.  With several years of pre-veterinary medicine, fine 
  11. art classes, and a degree from the Art Institute of Seattle, she now freelances as a commercial graphic 
  12. designer and illustrator under the business name Gryphon Graphics.  She lives under the (not so) rainy 
  13. skies of Seattle with her husband, two children, and a menagerie of birds, fish, cats, and a turtle.

  15. Her credits include the annual report for the State of Washington (1986), many commercial logos, covers 
  16. for PULPHOUSE: THE HARDBACK MAGAZINE, as well as her own line of fine art prints, jewelry, 
  17. cards, and rubber stamps.
